NGC 6914
Also known as vdB 131, it is a reflection nebula visible in the constellation Cygnus.
It is located in the northern part of the constellation, about 2.5° north of the star Sadr. The best time to observe it in the evening sky is between June and November, and it is particularly easy to see for observers in the northern hemisphere.
Together with nearby vdB 132, it forms a small system of reflection nebulae elongated in a north-south direction; its association with the large IC 1318 nebula and its faint reddish filaments is clearly evident, and the entire complex is located at a distance of about 5500 light years, thus being close to the Cygnus OB2 association. The nebula reflects the blue light of the star BD+41°3731, which has a spectral class of B3 and a magnitude of 9.84; it has strong emission lines and is classified as a Be star.
