IC1848 Soul Nebula in SHO
Located about 6,000 light years from Earth, the Soul Nebula is an emission nebula that forms a vast star-forming complex that is part of the Perseus spiral arm of our galaxy, the Milky Way. The Soul Nebula is also known as the Embryo Nebula, IC 1848 or Westerhout 5. The Perseus Arm is further from the centre of the Milky Way than the arm containing our Sun. The Soul Nebula covers an area of sky equivalent to four full moons.
