NGC 4236 is a barred spiral galaxy that can be seen almost edge-on in the constellation Draco. It is ‘just’ 11 million light-years from our solar system and is considerably smaller than the Milky Way.
It is challenging to observe and not easy to photograph due to its low brightness (in the outer regions).
