The "Black Eye" galaxy (Messier 64 catalog) can be located in Coma Berenices quite easily with a small telescope.
It is about 17 million light-years away and has a diameter half that of the Milky Way.
Pareidolia is caused by a lane of dark dust that absorbs light just in front of the bright nucleus.
