LDN 1089 and Sh2-130 in HaRGB
LDN 1089 and Sh2-130 form a fascinating pair of nebulae situated in the constellation Cepheus. This region of the northern Milky Way is a rich complex of dark dust. LDN 1089 is a cloud of cold gas and interstellar dust that blocks visible light, absorbing and scattering the light from the stars behind it. Meanwhile, Sh2-130 emits the classic red glow caused by ionised hydrogen.
