NGC 6995 – The Owl in the Smoke
I took this last night under brutal conditions—thick Canadian wildfire smoke blanketing most of the sky. I've been working on the Cat’s Eye, but seeing was terrible and transparency even worse, so I pivoted to something bright: this stretch of NGC 6995, part of the Eastern Veil. Some call it the Bat Nebula, but the Owl face jumps out at me, so I’m rolling with that.

3h OIII (Optolong 3nm)
30m RGB (for stars)
Shot with the QHY600M on my EdgeHD 9.25
Paramount MyT – rock solid as always
Despite the smoke, I was surprised how well the signal came through, especially in OIII.
Hope you like it.
