First test of the new Optolong Filter Images L-Synergy filter.
This is a 7nm narrowband SII/OIII dual-band light pollution filter.
The subject is the nebula complex comprising Sh2-115 and Sh2-116, chosen because I already had over 11 hours of footage available with the L-Ultimate filter (different bandwidth as it is 3nm).
Once I had obtained the masters to create the SHO composition, I divided the ultimate master into the three RGB channels and chose the red channel (equivalent to Ha). As for the OIII channel, after analysing both green channels of the Ultimate and Synergi filters, I decided to average the two with Pixelmath, creating a single file. For sulphur, I took the red channel from the L-Synergi master.
As for “star halos”, I must say that Optolong worked really well again this time and, as you can see in the image, there are no obvious halos. I also tested individual stars (Sadr, 52 Cygni in the veil) and the result was very satisfactory.
Once I had created the classic SHO combination, I processed the image with Pixinsight and Photoshop software.  Thanks to my friend Riccardo Pacini astrophotography who helped me with the processing, especially with Astropixel Processor and Photoshop.
It should be noted that the light acquisition was carried out with the moon at 65% and under a Bortle 6 sky (Guidonia Montecelio).
