IC 2177, known as the Seagull Nebula, is a large region of gas and dust located between the constellations of Monoceros and Canis Major, about 3,700 light-years from Earth. Its distinctive shape, reminiscent of a seagull with outstretched wings, is the result of the irregular distribution of interstellar gas. The nebula is composed primarily of ionized hydrogen, which emits light in the H-alpha line, responsible for the dominant red color. This shot marks the end of the nebulae series. I would have liked to use two more nights to photograph the sulfur (SII) individually, but I prefer to leave time for the galaxies, which will be the next objective, weather permitting.
