The Sh2-115 Nebular Complex and Its Surroundings
Within the rich star fields of the constellation Cygnus, the complex formed by Sh2-115, Sh2-112, and LBN 380 reveals an intricate network of ionized gas and interstellar dust shaped by the radiation of young, massive stars. Among these vast clouds lie the planetary nebulae PK 85+04.1 and PK 86+05.1, valuable remnants marking the final evolutionary stages of Sun-like stars.
Particularly striking is LBN 380, whose graceful shape resembles a giant cosmic waterfall flowing across the starry sky, with delicate filaments of gas appearing to stream through space like a luminous cascade suspended in the void.
