Sh2-63
It is a dark nebula situated in the constellation of Sagittarius, approximately 700 light-years from Earth. As a dense molecular cloud rich in cosmic dust and gas, it almost completely blocks the light from the background stars. It is now often described by astrophotographers and in the latest studies as a complex dark nebula or molecular cloud, due to the high opacity of its filaments of cold interstellar dust, which block the light from the stars behind them.
