I finally managed to photograph, with the appropriate equipment, the "Bubble" Nebula (NGC 7635), visible on the border between the constellations Cassiopeia and Cepheus. Its shape, highlighted by the void created by the blue giant SAO 20575 at its center, strongly recalls the pareidolia that gives it its name. Within it, stellar winds reach speeds of about 2,000 km per second.
The distance from our solar system has not been precisely calculated: it is estimated to be between 7,000 and 11,000 light-years.
The image was acquired with the well-known "Hubble" palette, which maps ionized sulfur to the red channel, ionized hydrogen to the green channel, and doubly ionized oxygen to the blue channel. The stars appear magenta as a natural result of this combination and were not processed separately.
