This is M33, also known as the Triangulum Galaxy, one of our most spectacular galactic neighbours. It is located about 3 million light years away from us and is part of the Local Group, together with the Milky Way and Andromeda.
What is striking about this galaxy are its open spiral arms, rich in star-forming regions and clearly visible nebulae.
I took this shot trying to bring out the natural colours and finest details of the core and arms.
