The Toast Nebula (LDN1221) part of a large molecular cloud in the constellation Cepheus. It’s hard not to see a slice of toast that maybe was left in the toaster too long. It contains dark nebula, blue reflection nebula and red emission nebula. There is a high level of star formation in this area particularly within the toast! The surrounding area is covered with dark and reflection nebula which include the Shark and Wolf’s Den nebula that I have posted recently. This image required over 20 hours of exposure time captured over 4 nights.
